Ehomaki Sushi Making Tour
Setsubun is the day before the first day of spring in the Japanese solar year and the day Japanese eat "Ehomaki" - festive temaki sushi rolls. In this unique custom, you eat a thick rolled sushi called ehomaki whole and in silence, while facing the direction that is said to be lucky for the year. Lets try it and bring ourselves good luck! You will work in a group, and moms and grandmas from Myoko's local cooking club will help you make an original Ehomaki. During the cooking and eating we will also learn and experience other Japanese customs during the Setsubun Festival. Let's celebrate "Setsubun" like a local does!
Snowshoe Tour
Enjoy snowshoeing on the deep snow of Myoko Kogen and learning about the nature and "yukiguni", snow country life of Myoko with a local nature guide. After enjoying the native forest walk and possible wildlife encounters, we will have a picnic on the snow!
Soba Making Class
Avoid weekend crowds at the resort and experience something local! You will make soba (buckwheat noodles), a traditional Japanese from buckwheat flour. 2-4 people per group will work together to make soba for 3-4 servings which will be eaten with vegetable tempura. Local instructors will provide detailed instructions. Who's going to make the best soba in Myoko!?
